I am a lover of design, making, problem-solving, plants, botany, learning, and making things better. My life + mind feel transformed by learning to make everyday objects; there is much power in knowing how to use tools and bring to life an idea from your mind.

I started this shop in 2009; back then it was an outlet for my screen-printing experiments. At the time, I was selling clothing in shops around town, online, as well as collaborating with local businesses on branding design.

These days, I am more interested in practical, domestically-oriented designs. I'm working on a few collections of tincture/bottle holders, desk organizers, and plant stands. Please check back regularly for more designs, as I will be adding them on a monthly basis.

The name of my shop- officinalis- comes from the latin epithet denoting plants that are used as medicines. This word is meaningful to me as an herbalist + plant enthusiast, as well as symbolizing my belief that any activity we engage in (making things, for instance) can be medicine.
